An ordinary day in Seireitei. Senroku and his squad were sent to patrol through the Seireitei, keeping eyes peeled for any hollow or arrancars that may break through the very fabric of Soul Society. It had been done previously, they could never be too sure. Senroku was used to it though, being on patrol. It was the same routine -- several running laps with his squad through Seireitei, covering every nook and cranny of the entire place.
Thus far, they had found nothing but other shinigami and Quincies who had joined the Shinigami to aide in the war. Seriously, what the fuck? The Quincy hated Shinigami, and most Shinigami felt the same. Though, any allies against Aizen would prove useful. Plus, these Quincy had saved the Central 46 from total destruction by the Espada. They had that to thank them for.. kind of. As Senroku ran through Seireitei, his squad behind him, he would hear a sudden cutting noise. He turned, and a huge hollow stood behind his squad, each shinigami with their swords raised.
They all charged forth, but the hollow cut them down with its giant right claw.
"Fuck."
He leaped forth, pulling his Zanpakutō from its saya. The katana, within seconds, had pierced the beast through the center of its mask: suddenly dispersing into the very air. He had killed it-- though at the loss of his squad. Why was he always assigned weak squads? One stroke of his blade could end a hollow, though the stroke of ten or eleven could not. It seemed the Shinigami were growing weaker by the moment..
"Damn, sad loss."
Senroku said aloud, crouching down to feel if any of his men had a pulse.

Suzume was forced to go and run an errand on her own accord. God knew that her squad was useless as they were. Of course, Suzume had training ideas; nevertheless, they needed to get stronger. Suzume shunpo'd over the buildings and eventually she paused at the sense of commotion. Looking over her shoulder, she saw a group of shinigami attempting to fight a large hollow. The captain leading the group drew his zanpakutou and lashed out at the hollow. Smirking to herself, Suzume shunpo'd to a closer and lower building. Her haori fluttered about her, revealing its maroon inside.
Suzume watched as the captain examined his fallen men. "It's no point, captain," she loudly spoke. Hopefully she spoke loud enough to actually have the other captain hear her. She shunpo'd down to him and her haori fluttered like a cape. Her form was as graceful as it could be. "So, captain, you seem to have a lot of fucking sympathy for the damn members who couldn't save themselves," she whispered, looking at the bodies.
Empathy. Sure, Suzume had it, but at the same time she didn't. If the subordinates did not have enough power to at least save themselves, they shouldn't be there. Her reasoning was solid, and her own teachings made them even sounder. She nodded slowly and spoke again. "I'm not sure I know who you are, I'm Ishikawa Suzume, captain of the second," she bowed her head and continued, "And, who are you, exactly, captain?"

[Lets say you come from behind ^_^]
Senroku turned around as he sheathed his Zanpakutō, smiling at the women. Of course he would have sympathy for the recently fallen, they had been loyal to him after all. He stretched one shoulder over, then spoke. "Omegate Senroku, 10th Divison Taichō. Very nice to meet you, Suzume-hime." He walked forward then, hands in his pockets.
Senroku's mind was clouded with thoughts and ideals the entire meeting, how was it so easy for Hollows to get through to Seireitei? How had they arrived undetected? Why, why were the shinigami so weak these days? So many questions rushed through his mind, and they were questions only the greatest of Shinigami could answer, if any Shinigami could enter at all. As he got closer to Suzume, Senroku stopped and folded his arms.
"What brings you here, Suzume-hime?"

Suzume smiled, and she nodded. "I thank you, but you do not need to call me Suzume-hime." She kept her smile on her face. She bowed her head. "I am simply walking around, Omegate-taichou," she replied. "I imagined something would happen, and yet I witnessed something saddening. Maybe Soul Society has lost its high level for captains, and for its seated officers. Maybe we captains could change that, I mean, hell, we train so fucking hard, or at least I do."
Suzume smiled at the captain once more. "Is there a particular reason in calling me a princess, Omegate-taichou? I am not sure whether or not it is entirely appropriate. Ishikawa-taichou would be appropriate for this. The situation does not call for anything of that sort of honorific," Suzume spoke. She liked to speak her mind and give the bluntest reason. Her reasoning wasn't far fetched either. She bowed her head and nodded. "So, please, may we stick to more, appropriate names? I do not mind entirely, I just find it... odd."

Senroku gave a polite bow, he had been to kind to begin with. He respected all Shinigami, whether male or female, it was just the Quincy race he disliked. Well, alongside the Hollows, Arrancar, and whomever other fuckers had joined Aizen. “Alright. Very well, Ishikawa Taichō.” Despite being concealed the tight mask that never left the bottom half of his face, Senroku’s cheeks curved up into a smile. He stood there, arms now by his sides, silent. Then, finally, the 10th Divison taichō spoke again.
“Where, exactly, is your squad?”
It was out of curiosity more than anything – these were dangerous times and no shinigami was safe from the very random occurring attacks from both the Arrancar and Hollow race. Hell, they would not even be able to predict if Aizen himself was going to come through a Garganta and attack Seireitei and its denizens. They always had to be on the alert, Shinigami. The captain tapped his foot against the ground unknowingly, looking over at the bodies of his men, scattered across the tiled street; there blood staining the pavement crimson.

Suzume pointed in the way from which she came. "About a kilometer that way," she said with a jerk of her finger in the northwest direction. She smiled slightly. "Why do you ask such a plain, dull, and almost worthless question, Omegate-taichou?" Her tone was kind of bored, and so was the look on her face. She tried to smile weakly, and she was getting there.
"Sorry for slow reactions, but I am slightly bored, Omegate-taichou," she whispered, her tone definitely sounding bored. She bowed her head again. "I'm sorry to be not much of a sympathetic person, too many years of training in Onmitsukidou. I guess those years definitely paid off, I'm practically a rock," she said with a giggle. "So... captain, let's have a walk, and talk? Perhaps it may be the best thing to do, you need to find replacements soon."
[shitty post, sorry]

Wow, she really does speak what she thinks.. Senroku did not bother to answer her initial question, though it seemed weird she would find that question exactly what she did. It was crucial that she be with her squad, or they could easily die like Senroku’s had just. Even with him their they failed. He could only imagine a squad without a Taichō there in the first place. Senroku nodded at her second question, and began walking. He looked over to her, smiling.
“Should we rendezvous with your own squad?”
He asked politely, trying to stay as nice as possible.

"It seems to be the most appropriate, maybe a joint effort could be consumed within the squads. I, myself, highly doubt that, but, hell, maybe it's worth a shot," she spoke as she walked slowly before shunpo'ing up to the top of a nearby building. Shunpo was their best bet if they wanted to hurry and get back to her own barracks and check on her own group of shinigami. And so, Suzume did.
She shunpo'd quickly, she was fast, but not the fastest. Soon, she reached her division, and what she saw disturbed her. The bodies of her own division were not bleeding, nor laying dead. They were training. For once in their goddamned lives, they were actually training. Suzume's jaw dropped, and she closed it shortly afterward, approaching with a stern look. "What the hell? When did this all happen?"

"Your divison's got the idea, it appears."
He shunpo'd directly next to her, Senroku's arms folded. Her men were different to his ~ maybe even the entire of the unseated shinigami. They usually graduated the academy, then sat around on their asses or died miserably in combat. This was a good sight, the first one he had actually seen in a very long time. He himself wasn't one to train, maybe once or twice a fortnight.
Not like Suzume at all, who seemed to train every fucking moment. She herself had said she was a 'rock'. The two just stared then in silence, Senroku observing the training patterns of her squad thoroughly. A smile, the third of the hour, plastered his war-hardened face.

"I suppose you are right, but, hell, they never train without my explicit notifications on punishment," Suzume whispered. "This is... astounding..." Suzume quickly looked over at Senroku and raised an eyebrow. "It seems as though you are enjoying the site of training? I never do, if only for the fact it is what I do all the time," she paused smiling. "Maybe I should try to tone it down, I have a life to live too."
Suzume smiled wider and nodded. "Life is too short, I should make something of it," she spoke. She started walking forward a bit. "Hey! You should just stop it already! You have just gotten off your asses and done it earlier! Stop it now, or some of you may lose your tongues!" Her tone was serious, yet her face held a carefree look. Was she becoming comfortable with her captaincy, and around the other captains? She hoped so, she just had to wait and see.
