Name:Botan no Miya (temple of the peony)
Element: Poison
Appearance: In it's sealed form Botan no Miya is relatively simple in it's design resembling a Kaiken or dagger typically smaller in size than even a tanto. It's too small to really be effective in combat and is usually kept concealed somewhere Shuyans body. It's scabbard is simple black lacquered wood highly polished and pristine. The hilt is also black wrapped dark leather, with two pink silk ribbon tassels attached to it's very end. The blade itself is elegantly designed brushed steel with delicate engravings of peony's on it's surface.
Because of it's size it's rarely used by Shuyan except for when she needs the use of her shikai, which isn't a problem since she generally relies on her skills in kidou rather than sheer force of strength. When actually used in combat, it's serves mainly as an offensive weapon, incapable of properly defending against other weapons, but attacking with it requires extremely short range combat which is too much of a danger with such a small weapon.
Shikai Release: With a gentle breeze, bring the world to it's knees, Flourish and bring me victory Botan no Miya
Once the phrase is spoken shuyan will simply turn her zanpakuto upside down and drop it blade pointing toward the ground. Before it reaches the floor the zanpakuto will disintegrate assuming it's true shikai form. In shikai Botan no Miya actually has no physical form, it exist as a constantly moving as swirling cloud of toxic pollen and spores. This cloud is massive and surrounds Shuyan entirely covering an area of 40 feet in all directions.
The cloud is yellow in color and it's constant swirling and moving gives it the illusion of rising smoke. Because of the density of the smog Shuyan who stands at it's center is almost completely obscured from vision, as only her silhouette can be seen.
Shikai Techniques:
Botan no Miya only has one true ability, and it lies hidden in the toxic cloud in which it takes it's form. This cloud is extremely hazardous to those who breathe it in and does great damage on both the physical and spiritual body. To put it simply if you breathe the toxins in you'll find yourself quickly becoming inebriated, almost as if you're drunk. Not long after you'll feel an intense burning in your chest and lungs as the pollen starts to do it's job. It works it's way into your system causing violent allergic reactions in the form of coughing and severe internal itching (an itch you can't scratch). After a while (two posts) the victim will begin to cough up blood and have terrible hallucinations. The effects can last a while (maximum of five posts) and can cause devastating damage to those infected.
However Botan no Miya doesn't only cause damage when inhaled, simply coming to contact with the toxic cloud can cause severe irritation to the skin and eyes. The only known cure is to simply let it run it's course as even when the zanpakuto is once again sealed the toxins still do their job. Unfortunately Botan no Miya doesn't discriminate, and can't discern friend from foe and will effect anyone who breathes it in. the only one known to be immune to it's toxins is Shuyan herself. Because of this Shuyan generally won't release her zanpakuto unless she is alone and her comrades are out of harms way. Even though the effects are not fatal they are harmful enough that even she would have trouble mending the damage done to an ally.
Though there is no true cure for the toxins, ingesting small amounts of Shuyan's blood will alieviate the effects, lessening their severity (seeing as she is immune to it's effects). For this purpose Shuyan always keeps a small bottle full of her own blood diluted by water in case an ally ever falls victim to her zanpakuto.
Bankai Release: all the Lilys have bloomed and blossomed, wilt and wither them all, Botan no Maka! (grave of the peony)
Shuyan's bankai is known as one of the most revolting of any shinigami's. The sight of it alone is enough to make most turn away in disgust. However shuyan can only see it's beauty and actually thinks of it as the most beautiful sight to behold. Unfortunately that isn't the case. Once initiated the swirling cloud of toxins will rapidly start to gather giving shape to a giant being. A salamander 35 feet in length from tail tip to maw. At first it's quite beautiful, a brilliant hazy purple color with golden designs etched into the surface of it's skin and a large Peony blossom atop it's head as a golden crown. Sadly as soon as it's magnificent form appears it starts to decay. Pounds of flesh start falling from it's body giving it a terrifying half skeletal appearance. Like some zombified beast, it stares grimly at the opponent glowing yellow orbs for eyes. Each of it's bony feet are tipped in gruesome claws and It's massive mouth hangs open constantly dripping vile venom. The most foul thing that comes with it's new bankai form is the terrible odor that fills the surrounding area. The smell of decomposing flesh and it's toxic dripping venom combine to form quite the bouquet. Even Shuyan has trouble holding back the urge to gag and vomit.
The most frightening thing about Botan no Maka is that it seems to have a mind of it's own. It can move and attack freely with little to no direction from Shuyan. It seems to know what needs to be done and can attack with surprising strength and speed. Unfortunately similar to it's shikai form, it doesn't care who you are, friend or foe, only Shuyan is safe from it's rampage.
Bankai Techniques:
It's primary ability is straight forward Merle combat. The beast is surprisingly speedy and has great strength. It's difficult to defend from it's barrage of claw swipes and tail slams, how ever the most dangerous weapon the decayed creature has in it's arsenal is 4 rows of saw like teeth hidden inside it's skeletal maw. They are hooked and when they bite into flesh it's extremely difficult to get them to release. The real problem with this however is the venom that is constantly being secreted from it's mouth. When introduced into the victims body it effectively disorients and slows their movements. Making them extremely intoxicated like a stumbling drunk. Their minds become hazy and they find it hard to concentrate, then slowly their vision starts to blur and fade making it difficult to see the massive shape savagely attacking you. There is also a secret that lies in this venom, a cure to one of Botan no Maka's most devastating abilities.
Divine breath of the heavenly blossom: A long complicated name for a simple ability thats pretty much same as it's shikai form. The great beast inhales deeply then breathes out a smog of toxic pollen that has the same effect as it's shikai form. However the cloud will disperse rapidly vanishing soon after making it's appearance. (one post)
Morning Dew: Botan No Maka collects the vile venom in it's mouth and spits it in the face of the opponent sending a large dose of it's toxins directly into the face and eyes. For those times when it's too dangerous to fight at close range or it simply hasn't been able to sink it's teeth in.
Death Rattle: Definitely Botan no Maka's most devastating ability, and also it's name sake. The vile creature will start violently shaking, it's clacking bones creating a bizarre rattling sound, sending the remnants of it's flesh and skin that once clung to it's body into the air. The flesh will then break down, turning into dust mixing with the air and becoming a lethal toxin that when breathed in will lock up the opponents body slowly stopping all of it's natural functions. The heart, lungs and brain will soon stop working and the victim will soon die. The blood that has stopped flowing will start to spill from every opening in their body. Finally the last stage will begin, and their flesh will begin to decay, falling from their body making for a most gruesome death.
The only known cure for this toxin lies in the venomous saliva that Botan no Maka has been slinging around. If you can manage to ingest it in time, or if the beast happens to bite you, you'll be completely unharmed by the toxins effect. (can only be used once per battle) ( the toxin takes two post to go into effect, and will only be used in death enabled threads)
